What is a PCL Tear?

The Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) is one of the major stabilizing ligaments of the knee, located at the back of the joint. It prevents the tibia (shinbone) from moving too far backward. A PCL tear occurs due to high-impact injuries, leading to knee instability, pain, and restricted movement.

Unlike ACL tears, PCL injuries are less common and usually happen due to direct trauma.

  • Arthroscopic Knee Assessment: A small camera is inserted to examine the knee damage.
  • Graft Harvesting: A tendon is taken from the patient's body or a donor.
