Subacromial Decompression for Impingement Syndrome

Impingement syndrome is a common shoulder condition that occurs when the tendons of the rotator cuff or the bursa (a fluid-filled sac that cushions the shoulder) become irritated or pinched by the acromion (a bony prominence of the shoulder blade).

The condition typically results in shoulder pain, limited movement, and weakness, particularly when reaching overhead or lifting objects. If left untreated, impingement syndrome can lead to rotator cuff tendinitis, tears, and chronic shoulder instability.
